    Gambler Performance Question

Got some number for you guys. I have a 2002 Gambler Intimidator with a 225 Yamaha OX66. Two people full of fuel tournament loaded running 78.3mph. I am running a 27 Trophy balanced and blueprinted by DAH turning 5900rpm. How does this sound to you guys? Bout normal, slow or very good? Thanks for any information, suggestions or comments. How do you guys think a 28 trophy would run?

    Thanks, Matt

    Re: Gambler Performance Question (Intimidator0756)

That sounds good for this time of year.. You will probably gain about 100 rpms and 1 to 2 mph when it cools down a little.. Sounds like the prop is doing pretty darn good to me..
If you go to a 28 Trophy it will have to have a good bit of work done to it to get it to run.. I have one built by Mark Croxton that is my fastest prop however the hole shot isn't near as good as the prop you have..
My 2100 with a 225 Pro XS two fat guys 36 volt trolling motor and tourney loaded would run around 80 to 81 in the cooler months and 78 to 79 this time of year...

Re: Gambler Performance Question (carolina killer)

Thanks guys. By the way Terry I love the prop and it is in great shape. It was a pleasure doing business with you.
I also have 36 volt trolling motor. My partner and I both weigh around 200lbs. The only thing that scares me is turning that many rpm's with that motor. It calls for max of 5500. I wont run it at WOT long, most of the time I will run around 5000 at 66mph. Would you guys be scared to run it up at 5900-6000 every now and then?

Matt.......the Yamahas like to run at 5900/6000 rpm. You are right on the money with your setup and running that rpm. At 5500 rpm you wouldn't be getting full hp from the motor. I wouldn't change a thing.

I had a Ranger 520 with a OX66 225 and it ran it's best at 6000 rpms.. I could never get it run any kind of speeds until I set it up to turn 6000 rpms.. I ran it for two years at those rpms and never had one problem..
I would say that you are right on target as well..
