    pro et revisitedI

I am currently running a26 pro et on my 2200 with a 300xs optimax with a sportmaster LU @1.75. I have my jackplate set @ 3. On the gps it shows 82mph @ 5900. I have run 85 0n the gps but had my hands full so i don'tn know what the rpms were. I am wondering if i should try a 28 et or a labbed 28 ET. Should i be running higher than 3 on the plate. any suggestions appreciated.

I personally think that you could run a 30. Sounds like you need some more seat time. A 26 with 1.75's and a 300 should be turning out of the frame.

for sure a 28...and mac is right..i think you should be able to turn a 30...especially a labbed 30...that 26 should be turning more than 5900 on that beast...motor could come up some too....the sportmaster needs to run a little higher on the transom...your speed is a little low for that rig...

    Re: pro et revisitedI (Boatrestore)

thank ya'll for the info. I just got off the phone with reynolds racing and he told me that he does't like to put labbed ets on a boat as heavy as a Gambler because it flexes and could throw a blade as it is thinner than a regular et.n we went out in the boat today and ran the motor on 5 instead of 3. The wind was so bad i wasn't able to open it up.I came back and ordered a 28 pro et to try.Fishing is excellent right now down here.

    Rangerrick,
This is from the other thread you posted. I have the same rig as you and you definateley need to raise the motor on your boat. You will probably not be able to open that boat up with out hitting the limiter with a 26. I am running a 28 and am pretty close to the limiter with it. The prop I am running is the pro et not the lab et. From what I have heard the 28 pro is more like a 29. I think the 30 is the prop to run but have not been able to find someone that has one I can try. Also the no the boat does not get loose when I am running it. Hope this helps.

    Re: pro et revisitedI (shumba)

I had a 28 Pro Finish ET on my 2100 250XS, 1:75 lower unit turned 6100 rpm's. The prop has a lot of lift in the stern but seemed to have a little to much lift for the bow with just a little bump of the trim and that my be the case of the loose feeling, ran the plate on 4. Hope this helps.

    Re: pro et revisitedI (shumba)

HI Shumba, Thanks for the info. When i go out this friday i will try to run the motor up at 4 then 5 and see what happens . It probably what every body said , that i could use more seat time . I just ordered a 28 pro et regular instead of a labbedm one . Glen at Reynolds Racing told me that the labbed was too thin. Have you seen their t-tail cavitation plate . It has cut my hole shot time way down. Will be posting pictures shortly. Thanks for the info.

Re: pro et revisitedI (Al from Canada)

Hi Al from Canada. I just went on and viewed it. First go to Reynolds Racing marine .com. Next in the middle of the page click on Reynolds Racing on line store. Then click on the left side on HP Safety Products. You will see a life jacket.Scroll down one time and you will see it.Glad to help.

    Re: pro et revisitedI (Bryan)

Ok, I thought that was something different. Bryan makes pretty well the same foil but thicker and stronger than the Allison foil.
