    2200/250XB Prop

Hey y'all, hope everyone had a happy and safe Thanksgiving Day yesterday. Well, as I'm sure most of you Notherners, winter is upon us...NOW! Going to be 10 degrees tonight up here in Northern MA. After my first full season in my 2200, I have to say I'm 100% pleased with the purchase of this boat last spring. Other than a few minor problems (lack of maintanence from the previous owner) the boat ran great and I'm already looking forward to next year. Thanks again to everyone who has helped me along the way, I really appreciated your thoughts and ideas. I'd post some pic's if I wasn't such an idiot with computers! Anyway, winterized her today and put her to bed until spring (or unless we get a warm day in Jan!) and was doing some thinking. I'd like to know what everyone's feelings towards prop choice. I know most of you running 2200's are running 300's but I wanted your thoughts anyway. I might have a little room for another prop. I have run 4 different props thus far. 27 DAH Trophy, 27 stock Trophy, 26 Trophy, and 28 Hydromotive Q4X OB. The 26 was bumping the limiter and the 28 was just too big as I couldn't turn it past 77mph with a terrible holeshot. The stock 27 Trophy was a prop I ran lot this summer and was decent but the DAH was awesome. Below are the numbers with the 27 DAH, let me know if anyone thinks there's a faster prop out there...i know, they sling blades but I was VERY impressed by John at DAH's work. I'm looking for a fast prop with a decent hole shot. The Trophy is awesome with carrying a load so I'm looking for another fast prop.

    40 gallons of fuel
1 person, full tournie load (no livewells)
    82.1 mph
    6150 rpm
    20 pounds of water pressure
    80 degree air temp
    80 degree water temp

If anyone has any ideas or thoughts, please feel free and post or PM me. Thanks for everyone's advice ahead of time and hope y'all have a great Christmas. Take care all and I hope to finally meet some of you at the Northern Rally.

try not to break that prop....cause thats really dialed in for the 2200, in those conditions.....and dont run it where it might get bent...

You don't have the risk of slinging blades that some do, since you don't run above the pad like the lighter boats do.

Try a modified Bravo, it may be one MPH slower, but the holeshot and midrange should be better.

I can't help you with the set up because I'm still working on getting mine squared away. I look forward to seeing you at the Northern Rally next year.
