My Delco cranking battery is crapped out. Will replace it soon. What batteries do you run?

That is amazing. These Delco batteries came in my boat when I got it new in May 2006. The 3 trolling motor batteries are good, but the cranking battery appears to be shot. Will not hold a charge.

    Re: Cranking Battery (WDBrand)

Trojan batteries are some of the best batteries i have come across warranty wise and durability wise. Matter of fact i have two optimas that collect dust in the garage. With Trojans I have fished two day tournaments forgot to charge both days. got home and recharged in less than 4 hours. they are pricey but an excellent tool if you have a problem with staying on the water all the time. Never have had one problem cranking up after camping out on a spot all day.

    Re: Cranking Battery (ungotz)

I have had all Delco in several of the boats and now I have all Optima. Quite honestly, I don't see the big difference between the two. I often think the Delco last longer for the trolling motor. They say the Optima are much lighter. Haven't really seen huge speed differences with them either.
But people seem to be very happy when buying the boats to see the Optima in there. I just know there is a HUGE price difference in the two.

I've had pretty good luck with my Interstates; not as costly and reliable. m
