    Lowrance LMS 522c Internal GPS

Hey y'all. I am in the market for a new GPS. I'm considering the Lowrance LMS-522c and after being on hold with Lowrance for 45 minutes, I got sick of waiting and because my boss was kicking me out of the office! I am planning on mounting the unit in the normal area under the dash but was wondering if the internal GPS will not be able to read in that position. Another option is leave the Pinpoint in the current location and just not use it and mount the Lowrance up top towards the right of dash. I believe Sandy has his mounted there. Any thoughts would be appreciated. The other option is the 520 and find a place to mount the GPS module. What are you guys doing with your GPS'? Thanks.

I have an Eagle fishstrike 1000c w/ external gps ant. It is mounted in the pass side lower console. I left the pinpoint in the driver side. I mounted the reciever right next to it, behind the console, up on top under the cap. It works great.

I am driving around trying to find my next fishing hole that's what I am doing with mine....
Seriously my GPS puck is mounted on a 1/8" piece of aluminum and mounted up under the drivers console and is never seen..It works perfect no problems at all ...

I've got a LMS-334C iGPS mounted on my grab bar with a Ram Mount. I've heard some people complain about losing their position with the internal GPS units but I've been in some steep, narrow valleys and never lost position with mine. I'm pleased with it.
