    Lower Unit Painting

Just put a new out of the box lightning gear case onto my engine, it came sealed / primer coated and that is all, should I really look into painting it? Color matching is not a concern as much as making sure if I should cover that with paint prior to putting it in the water for the very first time.

    Thanks.

Now would be the time to paint it, before it gets dirty and complicates your job.

Flying down the lake is one thing Luc, I was just more worried about metal peeling off if I accidentally run into some more good old Nova Scotia granite!

Our lakes here a very small and rock filled, you have to know where you are going and every spring is even more fun, the ice can move the rocks around in the shallower lakes.

I cleaned mine up and painted it last fall and it looks still almost new, there is a pic in the Toon pics toward the very last.

I want to paint mine but three dealers I have been to do not have the proper paint. I'll have to try and locate some next week before I fish a two day tournament.
