    Jet Drive ?

Afternoon . I have a question on a johnson thats hanging on the back of a Crestliner a friend of mine just bought . Its rigged with a Johnson that has a jet drive , but the lower is a different color than the rest of the engine . The model # is J40JPLEEC , and the Serial # is G 04697051 , and I am wondering if there was some way to tell if there was ever any warranty work done to this engine , and if it was born a jet , or morphed somewhere down the line . Also , I've been trying to find a crossover chart for Champion plugs to other brands , but have not had very much luck . Any links ? Thank you much , one and all , and take care .

    Re: Jet Drive ? (boatmech1)

    Just a guess...

But if the model number indicates it is a jet and the jet is a different color than the engine (the jet is now red, right?) then the factory installed jet was most likely replaced with a new one (same jet unit, by Specialty jet, different color, red).
