Installing Kill Switch?

I want to install a kill switch on my 1989 1.6 SeaDrive that has a binnacle mount remote control.Is this where I need to look for my black/yellow wire that hooks up to the kill switch?Thanks

That depends. If your control has a built-in keyswitch, you can find the black/yellow wire there. If your keyswitch is separate from the control, you will need to locate the wire there instead. The keyswitch has two "M" terminals marked on the switch where the wires are connected. Your safety switch has to be hooked to those two wires. One is black/yellow and the other is black or black/white.

Thanks,my key switch is separate from the controls.I'll look for the wire there.My instructions for the kill switch said to ground it to a wire running to the negative post on the battery.I would assume the black or black/white wire is a ground.
