The top speed is great. It will run mid-70's with a good prop.

It's not a good rough water boat. I bought one knowing I would only be fishing flat water, so I wasn't concerned about the ride. When I move back to Texas (in a few years, hopefully ), I'll have to get a bigger boat. If you plan on fishing big lakes, you might want to look at the ZX250.

Can't tell you bout the newer ones but I've owned several ZX225s in the past as well as TR20-21s. The Skeeters storage and layout is my favorite, fishes great really flat, fit, finish, and build quality are also fine. Speed is prolly bout the same for both now. I'd prolly give the edge slightly to Triton on the rough water ride. I would not hesitate to buy a Skeeter!! Good luck!!

I have a 16 ZX200 I really love the boat rides as good as any boat I have ridden in, Ranger ,Legend, handles great, top speed loaded 2 people so far 69, live wells full 67. I would think the 225 being 6 inches longer and 25 more pony's would be even better.

I have a 15 225 and I love it. its about 68-69 loaded with full live wells and two people, that's not touching anything from factory. the only thing I would change is the single split livewell with only one recirculator. its decent I rough water i fish lanier and it can get kinda rough. It not a great lake butt gets pretty rough. I had to pull the rod tubes out of the lockers and add some carpet to make it easier to use. fishes really big for a 19 foot boat.
