Looking at an 2004 g3 hp200, was there an issue with the transoms going bad and the factory replacing them? Anyone have any neg - pos on this boat, has a yamaha hpdi 200.

I was the person that posted about the transom. Check to make sure it has double supports at all three points. My original boat only had three single supports and it caused cracking of aluminum. Yes, G3 replaced my hull with the newer, beefed up version.

The one I'm looking at had a similar sitution I wanted to check to make sure that it was legit. I'll check the transom and look for the extra supports, haven't actually looked at it yet, should tomorrow, just wanted to get some info. Anything else I should look at, Thanks..

Thanks for the info looked at the boat not very well taken care of a lot of issues, told the guy I would make an offer on it but he wouldn't be happy with it and we left it at that. He did take me for a ride though and it was a decent riding boat. Thanks again.
Good luck in your hunt for a boat. If you have anymore questions, let me know.

I followed your situation a little bit when you first posted about your hull problems. I just wanted to say I'm really glad that G3 took care of you. That makes me feel very good about the company and their dedication to service. I understand you may have had to put up a good fight but in the end, they took care of you.

Actually no fight at all. A dealer from whom I did not purhase the boat nor is a G3 dealer but has done all work on this and my previous boat was my first stop. I actually went there to see if they could recommend someone to fix transom. Tara at 31-E Marine looked at it and said this is warranty issue she thought. She took pictures and sent them to G3. They, G3, contacted me and had me take boat to nearest dealer, G3 picked up my boat there and took it back to their factory. They then called me and said since I was the second owner it is under warranty. They gave me 2 option. (1) Make a new hull and rig with my equipment but would take probably 3 - 4 months or (2) put my motor on a newer hull owned by someone in management at factory which I would get it back in a few weeks. Since the boat was NOT new when I bought it and I wanted my boat for fishing during the Summer I chose number 2. They put my motor and hour meter on the newer hull which also had upgraded trolling motor, a hot foot, and blinker style tilt-trim. I got it back w/n a few weeks and not had a single problem since. If had purchased the boat new a would have opted for the NEW hull but like I said I bought it used. I can't thank Tara at 31-E Marine enough for all she did and G3 for taking care of me even though I was not the original owner.
