I think it would be difficult to find room in the bilge for that forth battery. let us know what you what you do.

Mike - did you get that new (to you) trolling motor yet? I'd think you'd have to find somewhere else on the boat to put the batteries as I can't imagine where the third would go! Other option would be to relocate the starting battery somewhere else on the boat. Still a tight squeeze.

i put the word out jim, and my friends were to good to me,, i got 3 left at my house for free.. 24 volt 71 pro series. what sucks is it does not have enough ass to get through the heavy grass.. so i asked the guys that left them and they are ok with me selling them off. so i am now looking to get an 82 lb digital... upon looking at the price for 100 bucks more i can get a 109... very tempting...not sure about the extra battery though

I think installing the 3rd battery would be tough as well. Having never run a 36 volt, is there that much difference between say a 109 and an 80?

Last year I upgraded my tm, I considered 36v, thought I could pull the starting battery from the transom area to make room for the #3 tm battery and relocate the startrer under the drivers seat or behind my hot foot if I moved the pedal forward.
In the end I decided the 24v was enough, and bought an 82# mk maximum. The digital curcuit does help the batteries last longer and @ 80 # will jerk you off the deck.
agreed, I got a 24v Minn Kota riptide and it whails
