Troubles with my Johnson 150 GT (1990)

I have been having trouble with my 1990 Johnson 150 GT. When I go to put the boat on the trailer, and I try to scoot the boat up the trailer with the motor it dies when I give it gas to push the boat. I dont have a hot foot, yet. The motor runs fine while driving on the water, its just trying to load the boat that it gives me trouble. It acts like it is not getting enought gas and dieing. I need some help form you guys.

How long since a tuneup?

Before you start it to load it on the trailer, try priming the bulb till it's tight and see if that alleviates your problem.
