    Lone Star Shootout -Lake Falcon

Anybody keeping track of the BASS Tournament down on Falcon ? Records are going to fall. This lake is one of the best in Texas IMO. Didn't get as much pressure as Amistad and some of the others. But that is going to change soon after this airs on ESPN and word gets out.

Here is a link to the live weigh in.

Re: Lone Star Shootout -Lake Falcon (schoolies)

Yeah, I seem to remember telling Larry this was going to be the new #1 lake in the country. You might as well set up the honor guard and warm up the trumphets to blow "taps", because this is the beginning of the end for Falcon.
It will take probably two years, about like it took Amistad to get hurt with all the pressure.

Ok, so this is selfish of me, but I was hoping for high winds to keep the weights down, and no 25 mph isn't high enough, and 25 mph winds down there are pretty routine.

My son and I were there three weeks ago, strong north winds two out of the three days we were there. Same old story, "shoulda been here yesterday before the north wind!" Anyway, I did hit two fish that I couldn't get in the boat. One I saw and she was easily over my personal best, but she decided she was through playing and treated my equipment like it was a Snoopy pole with no drag. The other one I never got a look at, but when she shook her head, the whole tree shook.

Re: Lone Star Shootout -Lake Falcon (Tx 201)

Guy in my club is in 4th place on Co-Angler side after day 2. Hope he can continue to do well.

Yeah, if we were smart we would open up our Lodge/Motel down there as I don't think there are many places to stay. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to invest in some Real Estate too.

That lake is just awesome. I can't wait to see where this small stretch of water is that Velvick and Martens are on.

+8# average over 2 days is crazy.

I think people will be coming from all over to fish this lake. Even if gas hits $5-6 per gallon they will still be coming.
