on the pedestal hole does it look as if it was made there or added later to the deck extension by means of drilling.
Just wondering because I have a 216 with the deck extension but it doesn't have the hole for a seat and I would realy like to put a third seat in my boat.
fishingfever...Having a third pedestal seat was an option on 216 and 201 Cobra's. The third seat option isn't just drill a hole through the deck extention and stick a pedestal pole in the hole and go fishing. When ordered as an option it was installed as the boat was been manufactured and was reinforced with fiberglass down in the bottom of the hull. When I bought my Cobra I checked (with then owner Charles Luna) and was told that they could only add one during the building process.

I thought I would be on Easy Street by now but somehow I missed the off ramp!
Any chance it will fit a 201?![]()
thanks for the info. just wishing I could find a way to insall another seat some how.
Rev225...Why not measure your deck opening and then contact Joe S. King Cobra (see post above) and compare that to the measurements of his full deck extention? The local craftsman who built all the deck extentions for Cobra boats told me he would never build another one, but I still have his name, address and phone number and if you're interested send me an e-mail. Maybe you can "sweet talk" him into building you one....but they aren't cheap....and then there's shipping. One of the other problems you're going to have is matching the carpet color as I'm sure any carpet that has been exposed to the sun over the years has faded slightly. Have you considered building your own with a step-up to the front deck? The deck extentions just screw into the port and starboard storage boxes and are removable on all Cobra's. If you decide to give it a try be sure to use 20 oz. marine carpet.![]()

Thanks for the reply Baclash. I'll measure mine and contact Joe S. King. I contacted the folks that built the originals for Cobra a couple of years ago then contacted a guy about the carpet. He even sent me a sample that matched. Had everything set up. Then I failed to follow thru. Ya snooze ya loose I suppose. I have a simple deck extension I had in my 96' 201 but I really would like additional storage for my tackle boxes.
Thanks Again, Rick
