    Question!

Can anyone tell me the thickness of the compartment lids on the cobras? Doesn't have to be exact, just in the ballpark.

    Re: Question! (bisbby)

Hopefully Cleveland will be along soon....but I'd say it probably depends on how much the chopper gun operator had to drink the night before as to how even the glass gets sprayed on. Sorry, couldn't resist! My guessimate is 1/4" - 3/8"

I thought I would be on Easy Street by now but somehow I missed the off ramp!

Is the center deck insert removable? If so, how do you get it out?

For a close estimation, these pics from Fishmoore's restoration might give you an idea. Or you might send him an IM since he had taken his down to the base material.

    Re: Question! (Tx 201)

    Joe -

Center deck insert is removable, looke underneath there should be 2 screws on each side going into the rod locker. At least that's how my 2000 190D was set up.

Deck lid thckness....I think the deck lid is aluminum, at least on top of the rod lockers. That's my observation from drilling and mounting rod hold downs any way.

    Hope it helps...

    @ TX201

Yes Joe, the lids are aluminum and I couldn't tell you the thickness. I think Backlash is pretty close in his guesstimation.

    Re: Question! (Backlash Ar)

Man, the chopper gun operator must have REALLY been drinking if he was spraying glass on aluminum deck lids.....did he ever make Viper Boats, Inc. Employee of the Month?

    Re: Question! (Tx 201)

Joe, I think I guessed it! You're making a bassboat booster chair for yourself so you can see over the steering wheel.
