Can we splash a different Cobra????

What would you like to see in the next Cobra boats from the new ownership, if possible, that they currently don't have? Sort of your wish list type of thing.

No dodo, not that! You know, design changes, different appointments, etc. Keep it up big boy and you'll be riding in the storage compartment.

    How about:
    1. A Step-up to the front casting platform
    2. Flush mounted electronics
    3. Pop Up boat cleats mounted more toward the inside

a 50% discount to Cobra owners that have gone through all the "stuff" and still have a boat!

Install the network wiring for the new Lowrance systems.

Sorry Kathy, we have to have some metal flake!!

Agree with everything so far. Not directly related to the boats, but I would like to see more Cobra clothes, etc. I'm jealous when I see all the gear available to Ranger, Stratos, etc. And, our cobra is much cooler than their logos.

Re: Can we splash a different Cobra???? (Backlash Ar)

Between Kathy's and Larry's suggestions combined, that would make a marked improvement, especially floating consoles and larger rigging box (it's getting harder to get to the batts now).

Another wish: Tweak the hull to make it deflect that "wisp" of water that tends to hit dead nuts on the forehead.

I like white boats w/ a accent of glitter, but not much. I also think the new stripe scheme has to go.

Of course, good management is must too. It's imperative that they improve and introduce product improvements. The current models (190, 201, 216 etc) can only go so far. Time to talk about new design.

I like the idea of the connector wiring for the lowrance electronics and I think they should research how to make the boat lighter. I never thought that a 70mph bass boat would be too slow but that is the way the market is moving, lighter and faster with less horsepower........Bernie

I know metal flake is pretty but have you ever tried to repair a metal flake gouge ?? NOT AN EASY TASK !!!! Not an easy task to spray metal flake either.

I like the step up idea, also, even though I know triton has featured this but that inset ladder is a great safety idea when you accidentally throw a midget overboard. Also there is no cup holder on my boat for the passenger side.

Re: Can we splash a different Cobra???? (bisbby)

Not too much, I am very happy with my 216. Little things like the Lowrance connector, and flush mount electronics would be nice. The engine compartment is big enough for me and I have 4 batteries in there. I would rather hold more gas if possible. I dont like the step-up for the deck, my old boat had that and it is just one more thing to stumble on. I would much rather have it all level. The boat is great keep up the good work!

How about a different step up for the rear deck...the cup holed/seat there gives too much...step off hard, and not expect it to give, and you will take a tumble....

Re: Can we splash a different Cobra???? (Backlash Ar)

I am all for the bigger engine compartment! Plus a wide deck up front so I can still leave the butt seat in and the wife or tourney partner and I can fish side by side up front.
More leg room under the console(s) to swing my legs out to get up would be nice.

Do away with the pergo compartment handles, I have nylon loops in my Champion and love it. No more stepping or tripping on them or twisting your fingers. They still have flush key hole for locking.

Let's all pray that someone steps up and saves Viper Boats!!!! First I would suggest that they start making the Coral Fish & Ski again. It is by far the best fish and ski ever made. I would like to see an option on the Corals be a choice between the walk thru metal framed windshield like the current boats have and just two dual console bass boat style windshields. I for one would choose the bass boat style. The major weakness with the corals is the heavy framed windshield. I think a sleek dual console design without the closing center glass section would be very functional and also look neat. A drop in option for the Coral to make a larger front deck would be nice when fishing. I think the new company should not offer the tubular trailers as they just rust out easily. A channel trailer is much superior. Oh well, we can dream of the ultimate Cobras and Corals!!!!! Hope it happens soon.

A flat spot on the drivers console to mount a fishfinder. Get rid of the dang fold down middle seat. Put in s tep or something, presently it is not good as a seat or a step.

I would agree that they should make the Coral again.........one of the best Fish & Skis ever built. They should sell a ton of them if they build them.

Re: Can we splash a different Cobra???? (Backlash Ar)

The number one thing that those of us with bad backs really need is the recessed trolling motor pedal,i can't believe that isn't an industry standard by now.The recessed pedal is finally an option from a few of the bigger companies on their high-end boats but should almost be standard by now.I've installed three recesses now that i purchased from comfortroll, put one on both my boats and one on my partners and its the best thing we've ever purchased for our boats. If you guys/gals have never fished out of the front of a boat with a good recessed pedal then you have no idea what you're missing out on,it takes a lot of stress off your knees and lower back.I'll never fish out of another bass boat that doesn't have one, thats how nice they are.Bass cat, triton, ranger and nitro have recesses and cobra's should also.Other than that they are an awesome boat, wish now that i would have kept mine,i bailed when the company got in trouble a couple years ago.Had a 2000 model 201 that was about the nicest boat i've ever driven, sold her in 04 but i'm always on the board keepin up with how things are goin and maybe if everything works out for the company i'll be a cobra owner again, great boats!!
