Can anyone tell me the propshaft horsepower difference from a 1998 Evinrude 175 Ficht 20" vs. a 2006 Evinrude ETEC 200 H.O.? I just got off the phone with a prop guy and he said knowing the difference will help me find the right prop.
Thanks

Tell your prop guy he is full of it! What a real prop guy will want to know is this.... What kind of boat, jackplate? How many inches below the pad>? Current rpms and speed with prop.... THEN he will make a reccomendation o you... Go over to the props board and ask Mark..... He will get ya hooked up!![]()

Ain't that the truth! Your prop guy should already know the difference if was any good. That just goes to show that he doesn't have very much experience, he is only trying to figure pitch which is the least of the set-up parameters.
The difference is about 35HP give or take a few. Now go talk to Mark. He won't steer you wrong.
