What is the angle of the V of the 797 compared to the others. 18? 15? or something else?

I'm obviously not TOC, but we did put a tape on the hull and talked about the V. I don't have numbers and maybe we can get them from the factory but it is not as steep as the 6 series boats and obviously the kiel isn't as deep.
It does still appear to have more deadrise than many boats out there. Hopefully we can get actual numbers for comparrison.![]()
Can't wait to hear the numbers on all parts of the hull.![]()
What i got out of the guys is it has a 13 degree dead rise take or give a degree at the very rear of the boat,it has a lot of curves in the rear....the front is the same way,its deep but cant compare it to the 6 series, totally different hull design.....now we did stick a tape on the bow and its 33 inches to the side of the boat, the 596 IS 35inches not alot difference, but the 797 is alot different than the 596 hull.ill try to take a pic straight on to show the difference next time iam down there....
The 195 is 14 at the very rear and 32 at the bow and 55 at the knife of the hull, now this is progressive just as the 797 so it will be hard to see the difference on paper.....Like I said it is 2 different designs...Hope this helps...

Is dead rise the back of the boat or the front? How does that degree compare to the 596 and 496? Just curious.

yes this is the rear, but it has more dead rise through the hull.1 or 2 degress, which Tommy and I noticed right off the bat hitting waves. It likes a little positive trim in the waves and the 6 seires likes full down trim when in the rough.....the 6 s is around 15 degrees ......I know its hard to understand the difference in words you would just have to look at it and see....
Sounds like there is zero backwash coming in on the carpet with a quick shut down.
Im liking this boat more and more
There is 0 backwash, when Tommy and I stood on the very rear corner it was still 12 inches away from going under.....It hardley even phased it with an extra 500 lbs on the rear corner...
And it sits totally flat in the water, the 596 is sorta flat but this thing is flat.....
Also the bow when fishing is nice and close to the water, your not 4 feet off the lake...
Backwash is NO issue. On several runs we just shut down and came to a stop with no worries of a wave coming over the transom.
I know one thing, it has a dog ugly console. Sorta looks like a bay boat console. They should have done a better job than that..
Ya the console is big,it will hold any thing you want to stick in it.....I think they are going to color it blue to match the stripe colors....If you had a merc on the back you could get all the merc gauges, speed, tach, water, trim, smart craft, oil level, radio, and still get a hds or 1198 into the dash.I know there are better looking and uglier consoles, but this one is will not have all the plastic garbage on it to break down the road....Plus they work really well at keeping the wind off you...
What's the length on the 797?
Do we have real world tourney loaded speeds on this rig? I remember someone mentioning this should be quite the boat for both speed and handling.

3 people, tackle, tool box, extra props, a takle box out of the 596 loaded with crankbaits Jigs and worms ,and 30 plano boxes 4 rods .coats, 6 pack of MT dew ,25 gal of gas, batteries,no jackplate, and a stock t1 we hit 73 ish....now with a plate a merc 250 xs and a good tempest I would say 75 would be easy...now with a 300 xs 80 should be easy also, and a 350 verado heck who
knows.
But I will say this that SHO might not be the fastest on top end ,but its a blast to drive from 0 to 70...Its so smooth
Also dont forget this boat is BIG,Its amazing it ran as good as it did with no plate, and no prop work..
