Soon to be Charger owner?

Hey Charger guys, Long story short I had a 2000 MTN. Home Champ 223, the transome was rotton and the boat sunk, Long story, but anyway I bought a Legend Le 21 and absolutely hate it if the waves pick up and start rolling even if its small and their spread apart it sucks bad. I get absolutely soaking wet were in my Champ I could have sipped a cup of coffe and stayed dry. So after seeing post after post about how Chargers and old Champs are the best rough water boat I believe Im ready to get a 496 or 596.
Can anyone give me some input on what kind of speeds your getting with a 250 pro xs and a good Charger dealer in Texas, I live south of Houston and would like to go for a test drive some time on a nasty day. I need to talk to a dealer that will accept a trade in and find out what he will give me for my boat so I know how much I need to pay down on it to not be up side down.
Thanks for all the help,
Scott

There is not a good dealer in Texas, trust me. TOC will be along and fill you in on the speeds.

I'm with ya on the LE Legend,,But the new design Alpha is a lot better.

Mine will run 71-72 loaded out with my partner. I have seen 75 plus empty by myself. It is a 496 with a 225 Pro XS, Can you make it to Texoma sometime for a demo ride on the roughest like in Oklahoma. By the way, it is for sale.

As sooner said, you will see mid to low 70s with the 225,the 250 will be a mid 70sto maybe a light 77 ish......a 300 and you will see 80 to 83 ish.now this is with the pro xs motors, reg opti take 3 mph off all the speeds. These are 496 speeds, the 596 will be a few mph slower ,but its a bigger boat.

I realize its a long way but if you are ever in Missouri let me know, I would be glad to let you test drive my 596. I will also most likely be at Lake Fork next spring if you are still in the market then.

The Charger website lists a dealer in Lufkin. I called the other day but the phone was no longer in service.

Re: (TOUCH OF CLASS)

Is Lynn's Marine still a Charger Dealer? Like others have said, I would like to look over a Charger but am not willing to drive a gazillion miles to do so. I am 55 and looking to buy one more new boat that I expect to last me as long as I choose to chase bass. Ride is king in my opinion and only Charger and Champion still use the V-wedge design and since I don't care for Champion's current ownership that pretty well limits my choices.

It's where I got mine and they probably won't have any in stock. They are also COMPLETE dumdazzs when it comes to bass boats. They are Ski, Pontoon and Jet Ski folks. I'm telling you, I would buy a different brand of boat before I bought a Charger from Lynns...

They had all kinds of thing wrong. Main one was the hydro JP, they had the wrong size on, and it was backwards...Not friendly folks at all either, was your best friend till after the sale. Then it was,,"Get out of here kid, you bother me"..

I did talk to Joe and he said that Lynn's Marine is still a dealer. He said to talk to Willie there if you do contact them. He also said that he is working on things in Texas so hopefully good news is on the way for you Texas boys looking for a Charger. You can also always call John at Marty's Marine and I'm sure he will be more than happy to help you all he can.
