    Livewell Help

Do the Chargers have a recirc pump? My pumps in the back area only pump water from the lake into the livewell. They are not a dual pump. There also doesn't seem to be a seperate recirc switch on my dash. There is the pro-air recirc switches behind each seat. I am not sure what they do. I know Charger has the system with the tubing running throught the livewell to cool the water and I think they have something to do with it but not sure what. My livewell timer is also tied into my pumps that take the water from the lake. I notice in my livewell that there seems to be a filtered intake for a recirc pump but there I can't find any tubing coming from them any where in the back near any of my other pumps. I can only think of 3 scenarios.
    1. Livewell pumps have been replaced, but only with the simple ones and the recirc hose leading to them was cut and plugged.
    2. The recirc pumps are seperate pumps mounted directly underneath the livewells and either a) the pumps are not working on both livewells or b) the pro-air switches behind each seat are not working to turn the recirc pumps on - if that is even what they are supposed to do.

    Help?

    1. Yes they do. That is the pro air switches behind your seats. They are individual for each livewell in case of only using one livewell. The switches on the dash are for the filling and recharging of water from the lake to the livewells. The pumps on my 395 are under the board and a bit behind the storage area directly behind the seats. They are 750gpm mayfair cartridge pumps. Both of my motors were kaput this year. Easy replacement since they are cartridge pumps. If the switch lights up like mine do the motor is bad. If they do not then you should go back to t6he fuse block and check there. Then check for power at the switch. I put plug in disconnects in to make future replacements easier. You are correct in stating that the recirc pumps go around the cooler and back to the livewell though. Good luck.

driver side pump definitely fried. which pumps are supposed to be tied into the timer? why would charger put the toggles behind the seats on the side of the boat instead of on the dash?

Sounds like somebody added the switches, they are on the dash for fill and proair.
The 195 came standard with the proair system and the switches should be on the dash.

Here is mine. It sits between the livewell and that long compartment behind the seat. Same on both sides.

I think the older models had it there & new ones have it in dash, mine does anyways. Actually behind the seat I could easily get used to I guess.

My '99 395 have both of the pro air switches in the same location as yours. Glad you were able to find your pumps. Were they about where I stated? I pulled the cartridge, then did the wiring, then placed the pump back where it should belong. It was easy...once I found them. They are hidden well but they are in about the only place that made sense.

Yea, actually very easy access. Not sure but they have been changed before. It looked like some of the insulation had been cut away to make access very easy. Could've been factory cut - just not sure. And the second one was fried. Changed them both and ready to go. When I get some down time, I will go back and wire them into the timer. The fill pumps are tied to the timer and not the recirc. IMO, that is backwards.

Here is my dash. I have a 195 from 1999.

I went ahead and added a timer for my recirc pumps now. Here it is.

talked to charger and the proair switches were in the rear behind the seats this is 99 to 01 or 02 .than they went back to the dash like the 97.Also the proair was a option on all boats not standard on any even the 195.The timer was wired in to the fill side Jim said it should of been on the pro air side but it was what it was.You can put a timer switch pretty easy to the porair side then you will have a timer on both.
