just curious what model is the top in rough waters
If you want the best ,and money is no object, then the 596 with a 300 on it is the very best your going to find. Now if you need to step down in price than a 496 with a 250 is going to be the next best. The 296 and 396 are going to be the best bang for the buck and you dont have to sell the kids and house to afford one,and your not giving up much in ride to the bigger models. The 296 w/a 200 opti is around 36000.00 loaded. And you can probley find a left over new one for thousands less.Or you can find any of them used and save that way too. The 195s are around and very cheap in price and they have a very good ride also. As good as the 296s ,but just a tad slower 2 to 4 mph ,the 296s have a new pad under them to help with lift.![]()
Also I want to add if on a scale of 1-10 and 10 being the best ride out there
The 176 is a 7.5 (only reason a 7.5 is the wave spanding, but the ride is more like a 8.0)
The 186 is a 8.0
The 296&195 is a 9.0
The 396 is a 9.5
The 496 & 596 is a 10
I hope this helps you guys looking at Chargers ,There is not a hole lot of difference
in the ride ( just being able to handle the bigger span on the bigger waves is the only difference)The 195 is really more like a 9.5 as for a rough water goes, but if the waves get to far apart you will have a little rougher ride. Now I am talking 3 ft plus other than that it will ride like a cadilliac. These boats you do not have to work the boat thru the big waves like a lot of other brands, you just go ,put the nose down and get it rolling 40 to 55 is were these boats like to run in the rough stuff any slower and your not letting the hull do what it was designed to do
Cut Like no other![]()
Andy was questioning this ,(being a new menber to the Charger family)so he took his out with the wife and all he said was holy cow what a ride, the faster this thing goes the better the ride![]()
