Pro air switches turn on another set of recirculating pumps for the live wells. Typically on a Charger anyway they recirculate the water already in the live well and re-aerate it.

The speedometer normally has a pickup on the outside of the boat. It should be simple to find. Barring that the Mercury motors have a pickup built into the lower unit. I is real easy to stop up with debris picked up from the lake or dragging the lower unit over logs.

I don't have a good way to clear that particular tube out.
    I got nothin

look on the left side of the page ,it is a option on anything other than the 195 .you will still have the switch on the dash but you may not have the pumps, you should be able to here them run.on the speedo just get a small drill bit and clean that little hole out that jim was talking about.

had the same problem with my speedo, a guy on here explained the how to fix it. mine a yamaha 200, charger water pick up is located on the lower unit. i disconnected it from the speedometer and used my air hose and sure enough it was clogged, worked fine for a while afterwards, and the took a turn for the worse, the gauage started filling up with water, got me another on on e bay. good luck
