saw that on the resto page as well. I would like to do something similar - mine has a flippin deck insert but it covers up my step compartment. keep us posted --

Nice job. It's really refreshing to see a Charger owner that cares about his rig. I have this friend, Ted, that doesn't seem to give a damn about the condition of this boat. Sure would be nice if he did some maintenance every once in a while. Maybe I should pass this thread along to him. Ooops! Looks like he beat me to it.

Nice job on the insert. Looks a little high for him anyways (he's kind of short).

Mine also has an insert. I would like to add a compartment so I can store my tackle in the middle rather than in the starboard compartment. I have a lot of weight on that side of the boat.

Hey, I do lots of maintenance. No cleaning, but lots of maintenance!

Shouldn't you be staying on the Triton board rather than trolling on these good Charger folks board?

And the 'short' comment - c'mon now, that's not right!!

Re: added a flipping deck! (cull25)

i hear ya - the biggest challenge on mine is the sub compartment (setp) that's already there. I would like to eliminate that sucker completely and make the whole area under the insert accessible. via latch or other means.

I'm sure if i had some time and a friend with some skills we could probably knock that out in an evening. it would just involve some cutting to eliminate the step compartment and install a hinge on the insert. And a front plate with carpet for stability between the consoles. In my boat this owuld add a serious amout of center storage and wouldn't impact the overall weight or stability of the boat at all.
