2003 Optimax oil problem 4 beep alarm but showing check engine and low oil?

Hello having problems with my 2003 225 Optimax # OT702465

Little confused here. Last night started up to run to a different spot and got a 4 beep alarm firing every couple of minutes or so. Checked reserve tank and it was full, cracked the cap of the main oil tank with engine idling and heard hissing so figured it's still pushing oil and it's just a leaking cap/tank or reserve tank float. Had just topped off main tank before this trip so the tank was full as well. Was relatively close to the ramp so I just ran it back at high idle just in case with no issue other than the alarm.

This morning I ran it on muffs and hooked the motor up to an SC1000 monitor just to see what it says and it showed a check engine light and a low oil light which indicates electric oil pump failure. I was under the impression an oil pump failure would fire off a continuous alarm instead of a four beep?
Probably ran the motor at a high idle for 15 minutes so now I'm sweating a bit.

Low oil light can and will indicate Low Oil. Temporarily jumper the two wires at the reserve tank, to bypass the level sensor and report results.

Yea figure that's the first thing to test. Just a bit of a gut punch when I read the merc monitor manual and it shows that low oil light in conjunction with check engine light is a bad pump.

That's not a MercMonitor, BTW. You're referring to the features of an older SYSTEM Monitor.

Definitely verify that the ENGINE mounted oil tank is 100% full of oil, with absolutely NO air space present:

If the warning horn persists after checking the items referred to in the responses above:

Just to update it was the reserve tank sensor that went bad.
