prop selection for a 187 200 xp?

looking for a prop that will work for me boat has a 6" omc jackplate i normally run a 4 blade renegade 13.5/ 25 repitched to a 23 max speed 55 gps will only spin to5000 in hotter weather.boat hates the raker tried 4 different 3 blade props hates all of them ,tried a 23 renegade still wont spin past 5100 is getting full throttle ive had this boat since 95 and have never been satisfied with the holeshot or top end there has to be a answer

What is the prop to pad height? Sounds like you need to raise the motor up. I can spin my 24 renegade prop to 5500 with a 175. You should be hitting the rev limiter with a 23.

Are you absolutely certain the motor is healthy?

First thing I would do is get with Fred (ChampionMan) and see what the leak down compression specs are for that motor. You should be slinging a 25 to the limiter with ease on a 187.

I ran a 175 Johnson & a 175 HPDI on the same 2003 187, ran a 24 Tempist on both motors around 67MPH turning 5800 RPMs if memory serves me well. The AR 187's are generally faster because the TN all composite boats weighed more.

Tempest will run better than the Renegade. I would check the motor first for health and also that you are getting WOT.
