    stuck fuel float !!

hey guys i have a 95 champ 171, with a 75 horse 3 cyl, 2 stroke... i filled up the gas on the boat and it overfilled, spilling gas all over the place. and once on the water i noticed the fuel guage was WAY PAST THE FULL MARK, and indicator was facing about 5 o'clock instead of about 2 o'clock on a full tank... and it wont move now.... any one know how to fix the float on in the tank ?? or do i need a new fuel guage ? i can post pictures if needed... HELP !! thanks bbc

Just need to pull the sender out of the tank and reset the float on the sending arm.

E-mail is in our profiles just click on the left where the avatars are. But to save you all that time on top of the tank you'll see two wires a pink in the center and a black for ground on the side of the sender. You'll need to remove all the screws that attach it to the tank. Pull the ground wire off and the pink wire off the center post. It will lift straight up and then you may have to put it at a angle to get it out the rest of the way. Pretty easy.

Or you could just go for a joy ride, burn some fuel and the float might release itself....
