    Sweet spot

It would seem I finally found the sweet spot with not the perfect set up. This is on the old '86 168 with a '14 115 pro xs, 4 inch CMC hyd. , and a bone stock 21p lazer 2 at 8550- 70 . Was into the wind over a decent chop.

Air temp would be more of a factor than water temp....as far as speed goes.

That is probably going to be my top speed without sending out the prop. It's about the only thing left to do . I was really hoping I could at least hit the inland lake speed limit of 55, but that will wait till next year.

70 in a 16' 8' boat is way more exciting than in a 20 footer...

    Have fun - be safe.

    Peace,

The 70.4 on the HDS was the water temperature, not the gps speed. Fishin was pulling our leg about doing 70.

Sorry, I must have read your first post incorrectly. I thought you were kidding about turning your Lazer 8550 rpms / hitting 70 and showing 70.4 on your HDS. Sorry about that, my bad.
