I am a former Champion owner who fell off the wagon and want to come back. I had a 1980 something 184 Super Champ and a 1999 202 and now am going to look at a 1995 190 SCX. I am not familiar with that model. How does it compare to the two I have had and how do you think it will perform with a 175 Optimax?

A 190 is a nice boat. The first Champ I rode in was a 1995 190SCX with a 200 Mariner and I was sold and when and bought a 96 202. The 190 would run 70ish. Not sure about the speed with a 175.

It won't be that 202, but you'll enjoy the 190. It won't be a speed demon with the 175 either, but you may be like me and not need that thrill any longer ...
Thanks for all the input. I kick myself every day for letting the 202 go. I looked at the 190 and it is more of a project than I want. Also, I don't need the speed any more. I have the Opti and will continue to look foe something close about 19' long.
