Is it typical to get transom cracks in a Champion, got a 190sx, put a 6" jackplate on it didnt notice any before and now how some around the champion bracket in the splashwell.
I have one below the Champion plate on the inside of the splashwell. Been there for 17 years... no problem. And yes... I have a jackplate.

I have a 2000 190sx with a Champion Plate in the splashwell and just washer in the bilge area.. (Looks like it might have had a champion plate at one time down there..
No Cracks.. No Jack Plate either though..

Its an 02, hadnt notice them being there before, there not bad but dont like cracks of any kind
Not saying that should happen, but adding that jackplate did change the location of the motor weight therefore adding common stress to a differant location of the transom. Results, stress cracks at the new stress location. Just a thought.
I hear you about not liking any type of cracks in my finish though.
