    fuel line and prime ball?

Two things- I have never use the prime ball, do you really need it to operate?

And if I do need it, can I install it inside the back hatch?

It comes out of the fiberglass and then goes into the rigging tube. Why not then, from the inside, just come up the rigging tube? Then I can't stick any hooks in the fuel line!

You can run the primer bulb in the battery compartment then the fuel line up the rigging hose. It will be very tight but doable. Also you need the primer bulb, if you have a vst pump go out, you can get back to the ramp by your buddy pumping the primer bulb.

    hey there
i'm in the process of doing the same thing
just leave yourself a little slack
i agree you need the ball to pump for cold starts and maybe a problem
like getting back to the dock
i don't know why they left it out anyway -- it looks tacky
wait til you find out how much to replace the rigging hose...

It really should be inside your battery compartment. They last much longer not exposed to the elements.

While you're at it, if you have not yet changed to EPA ethanol resistant fuel line, NOW is the time to do that as well.

I just picked up a 7 year garage dwelling '99 187. Took it to the marina here and have them do a once over. The one thing they found that surprised me was the fuel line and bulb. Stiff as a pool cue!! I have never seen anything like this in my life. However, the bulb was routed through the fuel tank compartment and then through the flex hose to the engine. Lucky find.
