Ok guys-
I sold my old 184 project boat today. I gave the new owner a little test drive, and while I was doing that, I remembered how great the 86" hulls handle.
I love my 203's, but while I was driving home, I thought of the champion that has never, and will never be built, because it's a hypothetical combo of old and new technology, plus some stuff I just dreamed up... but here is MY dream boat.
Light and Dry layup.
86" beam for handling and ride.
19'4" in length, with a 8" bob's hydraulic plate.
Bass n Bay, but with carpet in one rod box.
Dual console.
Driver's console has analog water pressure gauge, analog gas gauge, and a Lowarance HDS, with structure scan, and full smartcraft gauge package, flush mounted- only my dream HDS is the size of an HDS-8, with the screen size of an HDS 10, with no buttons, all touch screen user interface. It also has custom software written to control switches, so all livewells, nav lights, etc etc are driven from the touch screen. No plastic dash, just a flush mounted screen on the gel coated dash for a super clean look.
2 seats, each on shock mount/air ride supports, with storage underneath. with a livewell in the middle.
Rear deck is laid out like the old 86" boats on the back lid, with a remote fill oil tank sitting in the middle of the U shaped rear tank, easy to remove to get to plumbing underneath, and batteries on each side. One bigger storage box on the right, 2 smaller boxes on the left. No splashwell 203 type design for the very back.
Front deck has 2 big rod boxes, one big storage in the middle that extends all the way to the bow, with a sliding drawer that pulls back to hold plano boxes so you can use that space all the way under the nose, and a step up cooler. MotorGuide power gator mount, recessed pedal tray, pedestal position all the way up in the nose like the old 184, flush mount touch screen HDS, networked to boat control system.
White gel, gold pins on the arrow.
Custom white Merc "alien cowl" 2.5 drag, with gold logo.
