What is the opinion on using extenders on a 187 champion. I have a 1998 champion 187 with a 2010, 175 HP Mercury Optimax. Can extenders cause undo stresses on the mounting brackets on the engine when the motor is extended further than the design? Just a question I'd be interested in hearing opinions on.
trim it up let her fly!!!!!!
My 187 with a 2.5 200 doesnt require much more than mid trim to attain top speed
any more will cause it to lose handling and speed ..
maybe check your setup??
as far as the trim extenders,once you get past the brackets..things could happen
some of them not good.
check with the guru's in the mercury motor section
