    Water Temp Alarm

97' 150 Intruder FICHT. Last weekend running the delta my water temp alarm sounded off. I immiedatly slowed down looked at the stream and it was peeing fine, I didnt get a chance to check the water pressure at the time. I turned it off and trimmned up didnt see any obstructions. Took about 20-30 minutes before the temp went down so that it did not sound off. I was towed back to the marina.

I took it home and placed it on muffs for 15 minutes pees good, no alarm however I noticed the water pressure gauge didnt move, now i cant remeber if it ever has on muffs

I have an appointment to take it to the shop on Monday, what questions should I ask, what should I look out for?

Any of your thoughts on this would be great!

    Ask what codes were stored.

    Re: Water Temp Alarm (RUSTY63)

The shop is assuming that the water pump failed however they are a bit perplexed as to why it would be peeing in the tale tell and the water pressure gauge isnt moving. I asked them when they hook it up to provide me with the code on the computer. My concern is that they automaticly replace the water pump and that is not the cause of the issue.

I will report the Code as soon as I recieve a comprehenisve diagnoses from the shop.

    Thanks Rusty!

    Re: Water Temp Alarm (RUSTY63)

I have only had the boat for a year so I do not know. I was wondering about T-stat being stuck open with debris or going bad. I will ask the mechanic if they tested them.

I really appreciate the input, this is the first time I have had a boat in the shop and dont want to get hosed with replacing this and that only to find out the problem was well say a T-stat

Thanks Rusty and Seahorse. The issue was my impeller. I had them replace the water pump and put in new thermostats. I figured the cost is in the labor so might as well have new parts.

    Thanks guys
