Hey Anyone running a 1993 Champion 184? Any Input on this Model?

I found and just sent a deposit on a heck of a deal on a 1993 184 it has no motor but has everything else including controls and jack plate the boat is super clean gotta drive 12 hours to pick it up . I was just asking becuase I hear people talking about the 187 and the 190 was the 184 a bad model or what? Thanks for the help

I had a 206 with a 225 yammie and it was a dream champs rock, so I dont see any negatives in the 184 its a Champ. but maybe I am missing somthing. I will be into the boat about 6 -7 grand when I hang the power on the back. We are driving up next week to pick it up.

Look for yalls input on this model Thanks Dom

184 is a great boat. My dad's second Champ was a 184. I kinda dig those colors. You gonna hang a 175 on it?

The 184 is a great boat,,,,just sold mine after I got the 203.
My 184 is still in the neighborhood and just as beautiful as ever.
She is solid as a rock turns on a dime and tears up rough water,,all that and beautiful too!! what more can one wish for ??

I have a 89 184 and so far it is a great boat.(handles and rides great) I have a XR4 on mine and it runs really good for a 150. If you hang a 175 on that baby it will scream.

I had no idea when I bought mine how good it really was until I bought it and tested it out. All I can say is What a Boat!!! I have been on numerous bass boats old and new and I feel that you cannot beat the ride and how it takes rough water it is incredible for it's size. I love it and would hate to trade it. Take a ride on a another 18 footer then on the Champ it will be like night and day.

I have a 1994 186. I think it is basically the same boat. I love mine so far. I'm sure you will have good luck with yours.

I have a 1992 184 SCR with a Mariner 175 EFI set 3.5 below pad and a 24p Tempest Plus prop on it and love it. My max speed with just me,gear and half tank of fuel is 67.1mph on GPS. Two men (480 lbs) gear and full tank was 59.9 mph GPS. MY only complaint I would have is A: no rear storage..and B: the width makes fishing out on the main lake challenging with all the pleasure boats creating wake. I did make a rod organizer, and added a deck extension ( I get excited and run around the deck so much that I knew I would fall in)...Plus the deck extension gives a co angler a place to stow his gear.
All in all, i doubt I would trade my boat for anything else right now...I think it is the perfect 18 footer.
Looks like you found a nice one!

I forgot an important fact about the 184 if flipping is a major part of your game...when I built my rod organizer, I found I was able to get 7 1/2 foots rods in the inside tubes...seems most new boats I have looked at only claim to hold 7 foot rods unless your buying a 20 foot boat.

I have a 1991 SCR with a 200HP EFI, love the boat and will blow most others on my lake out of the water from a speed point of veiw. Handles great, fishes great. i too added the deck extention, should have done this when i first got the boat. i really can not say enough about mine. I have looked at newer boats but I just keep coming back to my old 184. All around an awesome boat.
