I wouldn't go out on Lake Erie in anything BUT a Champion! Gotta admire you guys that fish Erie..looks like it can get very hairy at times!

How is the 190 Hull for large bodies of wate like Erie?

Probably not as good as the 20 footers - but my 190 did real good on it's maiden voyage on Erie back in Sept. Driest boat among many brands (we wont mention names). I was able to run really good without the constant "SLAPPING and POUNDING" like some others were dealing with. My 150HP Rude was able to run right along side with 200, 225, and 250 HP power plants. When it gets choppy, that V-Hull Champ just flat out makes a difference.

Are Ranger, Stratos and etc not V-Hull?

The V on the Champ hull is much deeper/sharper and continues back farther toward the pad than most other boats. Other "wider" boats will flatten out quite quickly, which makes it a little more of a stable fishing platform; but will slap and pound rough choppy water when running. If you look at my boat (in the other post) it's sits higher at rest and has a much sharper V at the bow.
