    1998 202 1998 225 Mariner Mag EFI- I think I spun the hub!

Trophy 25P, its been slipping a little, today on hole shot it revs to 4000 rpm and
takes forever to come out of the hole. Is the hub gone or is there a shaft issue? Please help!

*Usually* a spun hub is black and white, it's just going to go nowhere at all.

If you're just spinning and can't catch, see if there is anything that's blocking water flow...transducers, speedo pickups, stupid designed jackplates, anything...

Props do get worn down after use, lose their cup, etc. Might want to give it a quick look too.

I got the prop off tonight and found that the square top rectangle length plastic piece that the brass splined part fits into that slips on to the shaft was cracked almost the full length of the plastic piece. I could still not tell anywhere that
anything "spun". The prop nut was not near as tight as I thought it should be either. I am having all of it looked at by a Prop Shop in the mournig and see what they say. .I did get a for sure distance on center of prop shaft to the bottom of the pad, it was 3 3/4 inches. Thanks.

The prop folks should get you set. Looking at a new hub kit. And they can tell you whether your prop itself needs work, too..
