need some pointers...on selling the boat...

I have been actively trying to sell the boat still. dropped my price from $14,900 to $13,500.00. no real bites yet, no offers, just requests for pics etc. I flat detailed the boat the other day and its sharp clean now. I just want to get rid of it. what do I need to do??? any ideas>

theres always ebay!! Have you posted on other sites..you need to flood your boat on as many sites as you can..Put the boat out on a busy street in your area and put a sign on it..The more exposure the better your chances..

get your boat out on a busy street, my brother has sold countless stuff like boats, cars, atv's just by putting it on a busy street..it may be a hassle to take it back and forth but in the end it helps sell your boat. or put it on consignment to a busy or high volume boat dealer,, he gets a cut for selling it and he has it there for potential buyers to look at..

I always had the best luck selling boats or vehciles early in the spring (feb-april). It seems that the warmer weather, birds chirping, and tax refunds gets people in the spending mood. I know that doesnt help you much now....but if you can hold onto it till spring, you should be able to unload it quickly and for a better dollar.

As far as helping now, offer to deliver it for a resonable fee or free. I always sold my boats with a 1000 mile radius delivery availablity....at $1.00 loaded mile, first 300 miles are free. Collect $500 REFUNDable deposit. That deposit is refundable if the boat isn't as you describe. Maybe keep your price up and throw in some tackle? or a gift card for tackle warehouse or somthing?....somthing to sweeten the deal and set yourself apart from the rest of boats out there.

Biggest thing is to be flexible and give the buyers a "warm fuzzy" about you and your boat.

    Good luck.

My buddy sold his for his asking price by just taping "For Sale" signs on both sides of his motor while his fished for pleasure and tourneys. Guys always came up to him at the ramp and they went for test drives right there. One guy gave him 200 bucks to hold it, then came by a few day's later with Check in hand.

He did list it on both Craigs list and Ebay with only emails wanting more pictures.

Good luck to you! Hope all works out!

thanks for all the pointers guys. I have had a lot of email picture guys and then nothing types as well. frustrating. the idea of parking it on a busy street is a great idea except i live in a small town but maybe a passer by will see it and go hmmmm...

Be patient. You just put it up for sale again only a couple of weeks ago. Get it on every website you can. Your gonna have a TON of picture wanting people that seem to just like to look at boats. But, keep sending photos out because one of them will buy it. All of the big city craigslists, st louis, chicago, KC, OKC, Ark sites, memphis, wichita ect ect.

I had mine advertised for quite a while on all kinds of websites. Finally sold it on this one but that doesn't mean this site is the only site that sells boats.

Don't get in a hurry and take a beating on it or I am going to be pizzed at you cause I wanted to beat you up on that boat and you turned me down.
