Saw my old 1998 181

So I was up at by the ramp the other day and here comes my boat I sold 2 years ago. So I had to stick around and wait for the guy to unlaod. This wasn't the guy I had originally sold it to.That guy bought it and sold it. So his partner is driving the boat and I asked him how it was doing. "It has been fine" he said. It still looked really good. It looked brand new when I sold it. It sure brought back memories. My Son was with me too. We were both about to tear up!!! So the guy(owner) comes out to the ramp and gets in the boat. His partner says "this gentleman owned your boat for ten years" The guy said " really" sat down and drove off. I wanted to talk!!! I am not the original owner of my boat. I am #3 but if I had a chance to talk to the guy that bought it new and owned it for most of its life I would be on that like white on rice. Just Sayin!!!!!! So he drove off and bob sledded all the way across the lake. Made me sick, I spent so much time and money on the setup making that boat fly. To see it sled just wasn't right. So I flew past him at about 67 so he could see how a Champion was supposed to look going across the water. I dont think he cared much though but it made me feel better

Maybe he just loved her so much he wanted to feel like he was the first. That looks like a pretty sweet boat you're driving now.

I miss my old 181 also. Do you have any pics of it?

I had a 181 and to this day it took high speed turns better then any other champion I have ever owned. Sounds like the guy was a D#@K. At least you got to see it again.

I feel your pain!! I recently found out the guy who bought my 1990 176...just trashed her. Kills me!! Some folks just do not deserve to own a Champion!!!

Nice looking Champion! I had a 1995 181 that I had bought new. I had a 150EFI on it. Still can't understand why I sold it. That seems to be a general theme with everyone though. We have a great boat and sell it for some reason and then regret it later on. I think that is because each boat brings back so many fond memories of past years.
