Have you taken it to the GPS forum?
That unit has a built in antenna, so it's prolly a major fault. The GPS forum will help.

GPS Not responding message = No power to the GPS puck... Normally you want to have the puck & network (if you have one) on a separate *Switched* connection because the puck will draw small power all the time if connected without a switch...
Check your fuse holder too... the small round spring loaded ones that come with the unit get loose and lose connection easily...
I have totally rewired it. Hooked it to a switch you name it a have done it when it comes to the power source. I am at a loss at this point.![]()

522C doesn't have a GPS puck.. it's self contained. If it quits, there's not much you can do, best I can tell. I didn't look at the manual, but assume since it's self contained there is only one power connection, unlike my 332C/2000 combo.
Has it ever worked?? Could there be a setup/control button that would turn it off? I don't recall one on my 332C, but that's a different unit...

You might want to verify that there is not an update for the unit. My 520C was having all kind of issues until I updated it.
I have the latest and greatest software update.

Its a 520. Yes it has worked. It works some of the time and then it just quits. Very frustrating!!!!
520's aint nothing but junk. You might get it working again, might not. If I were you call Lowrance and see if they wil upgrade you to the HDS-5. I have known several people that have done this. Some got free upgrades and some had to pay a little $$. I guess it all depends on how old the unit is and who you talk to. I went thru 5 of them 520's before I finally gave up and went back to an old 332 that has been problem free but that was when Ms. Linda was still there.....

The lateset software version will eliminate your shallow water grass issue. At least its supposed to![]()
Mine works great, too. I think it's something in Orange. When you get between the Neches and the Sabine rivers, nothing works right......hehehe.....sorry, man, I'm just kidding....

Nah thats not it! I had her in Texas last April and the same thing happened! I went to Lowrance and clicked supprt and it has a trouble shooting guide for my problem. IMAGINE THATThey give the plug setup and where to check voltage I am going to try that tonight and see what happens. You know I think I just have bad luck with LCR'S and GPS. I can even buy the top of the line and it's still junk! not to mention 2 months after I bought it they come out with the HDS

I had the same issue with my 520. found out the connection on the back of the unit was loose. It would read sometimes but in rough water it would lose the signal until I stopped. I figure you have checked this, but if not you might want to look into it.
There may be a few 520's that have been trouble free, but the majority are junk. They have always been a crappy unit since day 1. My FIL is having hell with his now in his bay boat. GPS NOT RESPONDING as usual, it is his 3rd one. He is fixin to go Humminbird.

So I go out to check the voltage on the plugs. They are fine all the way to the antenna. Then all the sudden it starts trying to find its position. Who knows??This is why I didn't turn it in for warranty work. Because I kept thinking it was fixed. What a pile of %$#@
Have you tried a "soft" reset. If so, and that didn't work, try a "hard" reset.
Yep tried both. Thanks for the help though. Right now its running in the garage and its working. I am just waiting for it to quit again![]()
Ok it quit again. Checked voltage on the last plug before the antenna there is 12.4 volts there. I have a Bad Antenna!! I guess I will call Lowrance tomorrow and send it in![]()
You might check the in-line fuse. That was my problem.
