Live Well Controls for 1992 184 SCR

I am unfamilar with the controls of my 184 livewell system, and cant seem to find any info online.

I have the obvious open/close big valve at thye bottom, with a toggle switch slightly above on the side. I have a timer and two rocker switches. I pulled the access panel when I was installing the two batteries for the 24 volt TM, and only saw one pump (that does run but, makes a intermitant whining sound.) When I turn the timer on, the furthest back switch engages the pump, the other switch does seem to do anything so far. No idea what the toggle switch, or the most forward rocker switch is for?

Does anyone have instructions for this system?

I was told when I bought the boat that it pumped in, pumped out, and airated a closed system....just wondering if everything sounds factory, or modified at some point?

    Thanks,
    Ron

Sounds factory to me. Reggie or someone will be along to help regarding pumps, etc..

Are your switches labeled? There should be an aerator switch, a Hydro-air switch, and a pumpout switch. We need to know what you have. We'll get you set....

Re: Live Well Controls for 1992 184 SCR (Lea)

    Thanks Lea!
I'll take a picture of the setup tonight..and I'll try to resize them a little smaller this time.
There is no labels anywhere..that will change as I find out what is what.
I ave owned the boat since the 8th and have scrubbed it spotless, changed prop, changed lower unit oil, built and carpeted a deck extension with storage underneath, changed trolling motor, changed out a trailer tail light, and a marker light. I dont know if the pump that is whining needs cleaned, changed out or maybe it will quiet down with water running through it. I'm also making a rod locker organizer, and am putting in a partner rod storage sytem on the left side. Lots to do before spring.

    Thanks again!,

Here is a picture of how its set up. its a little washed out from the flash. It looks like the above drawing except for the little toggle switch.

Yours is like the one on my 93 201. The picture I posted is if you had the factory pump-out. That is the pump-out valve control to the right. It is just like the livewell drain is below the timer panel.

Aerate switch - controls the pump mounted through the step on the pad that pulls in lake water for the livewell
Hydro switch - controls the recirculate pump located on the back of the livewell.
Percent Run Time - controls the run time of the two pumps.

To fill the livewell, turn on the Aerate and rotate the timer to 100%. Once the livewell fills to the overflow or a lesser level of your choice, set the timmer for a lesser percentage. Leaving it at 100% I assume, will run the livewell over eventually. You can either use fresh lake water by leaving the Aerate switch on and letting it drain via the over-flow tube or turn off the Aerate and use the Hydro to recirculate the water, which if you have treated and/or iced water is the way to go.

Here are some shots of my setup including the Flow-rite pump-out aerator that works with the Hydro pump.

Flow-Rite Pump-out Aerator in recirculate position.

Thanks for the description and pics!
Do you have any idea what the little toggle switch does?

I have no idea what the toggle switch might be for, unless it is for the pump-out you mentioned or is replacing a possible defective rocker switch. It is not factory installed.

Either go into your profile and unhide your e-mail address or IM it to me and I'll e-mail you a copy of my 93 owner manual
