    10" Slide Master Jack Plate??

Ive had problems with my 10" Slide master Jack Plate moving on me often.

It seems that the left side of my jackplate always ends up a 1/4" lower than the right side no matter what and no matter how hard i tighten the lock screws. It seems like there is way to much torque for the jack plate to handle. I feel like i cannot rely on it.

Sometimes i feel like it effects output and performance of my 225 Pro XS on my 2007 Champ 200 DCX. I just dont know what is up with my slipping Jack Plate. Any reccomendations??

Has anybody else had these problems and if so what is your take??

    Thanks; Big Ed!

Re: 10" Slide Master Jack Plate?? (The Other Big Ed)

I did have the same problem. My Slide Master came all black, even the 4 unpainted side plates that you show in your picture were painted black. The manufacture sent me unpainted side plates and told me to scuff up the area the that the side plates touch to help stop it from moving. It worked! I haven't had to reposition or tighten since then. I scuffed with a fine sandpaper and only scuffed where it touches. Don't get carried away with the sandpaper, it doesn't take much.

I had the same problem on my last boat but mine was the non painted plate. The only way I could get it to stay in the correct position was to "make" the plate settle. I would loosen the slide plates on both sides of the jackplate and then shake the motor from right to left (port to starboard). The plate would even itself up then I would tighten the side plates.
I don't know where we are, but we are making darn good time.

Get the plate back where it belongs. You can leave one side tight and then loosen up the other. Turn the center bolt until you get it back where you want. Tighten the bot again. Then take the center bolt and move it in the opposite direction to relieve the bidding that you are putting on the plate.
