    Water Leaks

Hey guys....I put drinks and a bag of ice in a rear-side compartment ( next to livewell ) of my 1996 190CX and when the day was over and i pulled the plug to drain that compartment, water started coming out from under the driver and passenger seats...where they meet the floor.

Is this normal ? Shouldn't it drain into the bilge ?

That's the first time i tried putting ice drinks in there, but never knew it would drain into the floor.
I pulled the baot out of the water and opened the drain plug...no water at all !! But after i got it home and raised the nose, it drained out about a ice bag of water.

Also got the powerpole installed....awesome !! A must have for shallow water situations...well worth the $1500 total installation.

Just installed a Fury 25P on my Mariner 225 EFI...had a Trophy 26P but couldn't get but 5100 rpm and 62 mph out of her. I will post the results of the new prop as soon as i get to take her out again....hopefully tomorrow !!

Pretty sure that is "dry storage". Lea has all the brochures so they will show the floor plan.

The only coolers shown for the 1996 models are the step-up to front deck ones on the Elites.

However, the box you used is referred to as "wet storage", so using it for a cooler should be OK except for possible lack of insulation. Since you did get the "icebag" of water draining out of the bilge when you raised the nose, evidently the box did drain mostly into the bilge. I have zero idea what could have caused some of the water to come out from under seats. Have you looked to see if there are any cracks in that box?

Be sure and post numbers with the Fury!!!! A 26 Trophy is a bit much for that motor/rig. Generally, a 4 blade should be one P down from 3 blade. You probably needed a 24 Trophy.. But the 25 Fury should be the ticket!!!

    Re: Water Leaks (Lea)

Thanks Lea...they should pay you for such good response !
I put my Champ in the shop today to have a foot switch for the powerpole installed in the bow....ADVICE...get the pro model powerpole if you want any accessories other than powerpole and console switch...the savings are built into the pro model purchase. Either way...a awesome addition to a fishing rig !!
While in the shop i'm having a hotfoot installed and the 225 Mariner raised up to the middle hole as it's currently in the second from top hole and when i trim down my jackplate, the steering touches the top of the transom....and when trimmed all the way up it puts my prop shaft at 3 3/4" below plane. Raising it will get me to 3 1/2" below plane and get it off the transom.
I can't wait to run it with the Fury...and yes that 26P Trophy 4-blade wouldn't let the 225 Mariner turn but 5100 rpm. My dealer said it should be turning 56-5800 rpm. The Trophy 26P had a good hole shot, so the Fury 25P should try and pull a wheelie !! While changing props, i noticed the prop shaft seal was pretty worn ( spring had came off ) so along with the other work, decided to get her done before turnin the Fury loose !
