    Hey Pat......(or other setup folks)

I'm going to get my boat on a level surface and check my engine height. I'm curious though, if I have an 8" Slidemaster JP, with a 2000 175 EFI hung on it, and 5&1/2 inches of the auger or worm shaft protruding from the bottom of my JP, isn't there a way I can figure my prop to pad distance using the 5&1/2 inch figure? Aren't there a few constants involved in this that you could use if you didn't have a level surface?

try a laser level on the bottom of the pad just under the drain plug and shoot it to the engine , then measure the laser point to the center of prop shaft or the center of the bullet on the gear case.. or make you a level platform to measure off of. make sure you level the engine and the bottom of the boat first.

Rarely is it as easy as set here and go...recommended settings are a starting point, you'll usually adjust from there, every boat/motor/load/conditions/prop are different.

Thanks. It actually runs out pretty good, I've got no complaints. I just wanted to see where it was set. It'll run 60 gps with two fat guys, full T load, full fuel and full live wells. Can't ask a little boat for much more than that, at 4500 feet anyway.
