Dilema-Fix now or wait?

94 Mariner 200 Mag EFI
I need to replace the steering pin lower yoke. Too much play is causing motor shake and vibrations. My dilema is should I just try and keep it full grease and make it through this season and fix it during the winter months or fix it now. I will do it myself but it is a labor intensive job requiring the powerhead to come off to gain access to the upper mount nuts. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I would say if it is a safety issue, you can't wait. Is there any way it could let go or fail under power?
