    LIVEWELL DIVIDER PLUGS?

Ok guys. I have a dilemna.

I took my plastic livewell dividers out to clean them. And now the two plugs (I think they are like drain plugs) aren't holding the dividers together. I am at work at the moment...so I don't have the dimensions.

I've looked at BassPro and Cabellas and can't find any "longer" drain plugs....I believe if I can find plugs which aren't so short and stubby, I'd be in business...cause when I close them, the longer part will close around the other side of the dividers and hold them...right now the short stubby ones aren't giving me much "holding" on the dividers.

    Any thoughts on this?

LOL...The newer Champs have a set of clear plexiglass "gates" which fit into slots in the wall of the livewell and "clip" together with rubber plugs. It's an odd arrangement, but seems to work OK (aside from this issue).

Fishthenation....contact your closest Champion dealer. You can also contact Customer Service, but do it today or wait till after next week, as factory will be closed week of 13th...

Well, that explains it then ... my 93 has the metal divider that hinges at the bottom.

These shot are of my pump-out aerator valve, but you can see the corner of it in these shots:

make sure when you put them in they are not to loose to begin with or they will just spin. The best way I found is to remove the seat and grab both sides of the devider. Yes this will put your face on the carpet. Hold on to the little metal disc with one hand while twisting the handle part with the other. One more thing make sure they are not in the "clamped or locked" position when putting them in. I hope this helps.

Ok. I completely understand the need for the pics. I've pictured the two dividers out of my tank.

I've measured the diameter of the hole and it is just under 5/8". The diameter of the rubber on the snap plug is 1/2". I am going to purchase some larger snap plugs at 5/8" and see if it works. The challenge as you can see in these pics is there isn't enough "length" on the plug after it passes thru the two dividers and is snapped shut. Even after tightened all the way.

Were these plugs holding the plates together before you took them apart to clean?

In one of the pics it looks to be tightened too much. But like you said it's worn out. Stick them through both plates and a 1/2 turn and lock themshould be all that is needed. Atwood Marine makes these plugs. They are called livewell/bailer plugs..

Guys...the original plugs used were "too small". I purchased 5/8" diameter plugs this afternoon, and the hold seems SOLID. Lets see what happens in the tourny I'm in today:-) actually in 5 hours from now. I gotta get 2 hours of sleep:-)
