    187 numbers

My recent post about my outing on the MO river stated that I saw 59 with a full fuel tank, full livewells, and 450lbs of people. I thought that was pretty good, but twice now I've heard a fellow basser say " That's all?" To all the 187 owners or others who've owned one, should it do better than that with a full load at 1600 feet? Again, I thought it was good. I don't know what my rpm's were cuz my tach quit on me. I'm not looking for a speedboat, most days I run about 45mph. Normally I get low 60's. I guess I am asking if it's normal to lose about 5mph with a full load?

That seems about right to me! Alot of people are full of chit too! Last year i raced a guy with a 2007 Ranger Z20 that was running 75 on gps. I smoked him by over a hundred yards and I was only running 72 and change. He told me that I really had a 250 under the 225 cowling. I told him to contact Lowrance CS cause his GPS was broke!! Wayyyyyy to many bull chitters out there!

    Agree with Randy.

Typically every 100 pounds of weight would equate to about 1 MPH.

The TN 187's are slower than the AR 187's due to the added weight of the one piece drop in stringer. I still managed this speed VERY consistently, this was a summer shot before I sold the boat FULL load with one person. The guy that bought the boat had the 24 Tempist B&B and busted 67 this winter.

I am sure the altitude has bearing! Was your carpet wet? That cost big time speed!!!

I want to say I was sitting at 3.25 below pad (may have been 3.5?) spinning a stock 24 Tempist (I tried a couple before picking one) to 5900 RPM's with a 175 HPDI.

I do agree I run across my share of "net racers" on tournament day.

Thanks guys. I have never measured my prop-to-pad height, and I REALLY SHOULD GET MY EFFEN TAC FIXED. Appreciate the help.
