    36 volt troller?

I'm sure its on here somewhere, but where is the best place to install 3rd battery , for 36 volt trolling motor? I have a 2002 21xd with 24 minnkota and want to install a 36 volt, but battery back compartment is full with 3 battery's and oil tank. Thanks.

You can use your cranking batt as the third batt in the 36 volt cycle and still just come off of it as a 12 volt to crank and run your electronics, or you can put one of your batts in compartment behind pass seat, seen it done both ways can't say which one is the best, it's a personal preference

I have 2 on one side and 2 on the other side (21 XDC) it's a little tight on the driver's side but balances the boat better

I went to 4 batteries instead of three when I put a HDS 10 and a HDS 8 on my boat, had a problem running the cranking battery down where it would not crank the moto

must of had a weak batterie. I run 2 hds 10 and livewells all day with zero issue. My friend runs 2 hb 1197s and wells all day with no issues also.

You could get a 36V Lithium Pros battery? I use two of them in parallel but you can get by with just one.

V20Eufaula, why are you running 2X36 volt Lithium Pros batteries? I have one and have not come close to running it down.

I chose two because I stay on the trolling motor pretty hard. I haven't come close to running out of juice. I've heard from several people that one battery is enough but I just wasn't comfortable going that route. I know some pros are actually using three 36 volt batteries...

You can fit three batteries on one side. You may have to do some trimming of the battery trays but it's possible. I did it on my 20"1 21xd

I carried a booster pack with me the first while i ran it with only 3 batteries. Now i dont even worry, its been 4 years now i been running like that and never had 1 issue. Even had it on a high compression phase 3 hpdi with zero issues. Fished 4 days straight at my camp without charging the batteries ones with no issues.
