1989 225 Johnson problems

I have a J225laed johnson motor, I recently carried it to be serviced and found out the power head is low on compression. My question is what choices do I have other than complete over-haul? The compression checks 85 psi on one cylinder and 70-75 on the rest. I also found out that my power pack is bad and it is the second one in 2 years. Any suggetions will be greatly appreciated.

Try a different compression gauge and charge up the battery before making any decisions.
