I have always wondered about my Lowrance 332c and my actual readings. I looked in my bilge area and found a skimmer transducer instead of a puck. Is this standard practice for Champion or will it still do the same job?![]()

it will do the same job....as long as it was installed correctly......if the epoxy used dosent have any air bubbles in it its as good as a puck type transducer
Luke is right on.
Back in '05 sometime, Lowrance was having problems with some of the puck style xducers. Dealers & mfg would install the skimmer xducer because that's the only stock of xducer they had. Mine went bad and I just happen to have the skimmer xducer to install. Worked great.

Just reading your post here and was wondering if it makes any difference which way the skimmer tranducer faces when mounting it inside the hull? I'm replacing my transducer in the front (already have 2 from a Lowrance X-75 and can't use an adapter and I had to cut the Lowrance 510C transducer line which has 8 wires in it because the Blue connector won't fit through my passage way. I ordered a Airmar junction box to reconnect the wires but I somewhere that it makes a difference which way it's facing. Just thought I would ask, never heard that before.
