    VRO pump

Looking for the best place to buy a complete VRO pump for a 1997 Evinrude Intruder. Model number E175GLEUC I found some on ebay but not sure if its the complete pump or not.

I've already went the route of buying a used one that was supposed to work. Rather just buy it new and not worry about it.

Maybe ChampioNman can enlighten me a little because I've never run VRO pumps, but I thought the preferred ones were five wire. Didn't know they went back to the four wire.

I guess the early ones were the three wire and they added the fourth (purple I think) wire.

It's been about 23 years since OMC added the 4th wire (purple), almost a quarter of a century ago.

I guess, that just proves I'm one old fart, and been messing with these things too long. I just don't normally mess with stock motors or work on them for other people, and the last VRO had my hands on, I installed for a friend, I had to add that extra wire to the motor. Wanna Make a 200 a 300, that I can do, wanna rebuild your stock 200, I wouldn't mess with it.

No worries, and as the long standing motto is here we don't do hop ups here. That is what scream and fly is for.
